" Live Laugh Love "

Scrap Around The World Challenge for October

Hi everyone
I have been very busy this week with my scrapping. I saw this challenge and I really wanted to make sure that I left enough time to do it. Scrap Around The World had a mood board that had my all time favourite colour scheme and when I saw it I knew I had to do a page for it.
Even though I have been so busy I didn't want to miss out creating a page for this challenge site and this is what I came up with. This is my gorgeous little granddaughter Eliza. I put angel wings on her and put her in a garden of flowers. It wasn't until I stepped back that I realised it looks like she is pulling the flowers back to look through.I can almost hear her her saying Ta Da !!
Scrap Around The World.

I used so many ideas from the moodboard at SATW that I will try to remember them all for you. The colours would be the main inspiration, the butterflies, the jewels on the bracelet but I swapped for the pearls on my page. The wings off the bracelet, I put angel wings on the photo of Eliza so she looked like an angel. The zig zag on the shorts I use on the frames around the main photo but it was the whole feel of the board, so girly, so pretty.

This is the mood board at Scrap Around The World.
What a wonderful board created by Rachael Funnell

Now for the closeups and some of the finer details
So much work on the background with Gesso, texture paste, inking with Dylusions. I put some gauze down and texture pasted that to the background for some extra texture.

Pearls, flowers and the little lace flowers and of course the beautiful ribbon from Green Tara

I love the chicken wire chippy from 2Crafty just poking out from the layers. The little stars were a last minute add with glitter to finish them off.

I love the way this photo looks like an angel sitting amongst the flowers looking down at the other angel. The angel wings are adorable. Again you can see all the work in the background
I tucked some lace between the layers under some punching out. Lots of little bits of yummy goodies poked here and there in this layout.
Some of the items used;
Monte Mart Gesso & Impasto
Plain Bazzill
2Crafty Chipboard
Dylusion sprays
Green Tara ribbon
Prima flowers
Petaloo flowers
Bits and pieces of leftover papers
Ranger Stickles
Prima Resin cupid
Jo Sonja paints

WOO HOO !!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,
I can finally announce to the world that I am now officially on the Design Team  at Color, Stories and Inspiration (CSI )

As you know I have submitted a lot of my layouts to this challenges site. I find the idea of doing not only the color aspect (The Scheme ) but also having to find certain items (The Evidence) and then the hardest part for me the journalling (Testimony ) really has pushed my scrapbooking. The colours have made me use more on my layouts, I have never had a problems putting "the bits" on but the journalling was another story. It has made me document the story so now I find it quite easy to do.

Having had the honor of being a guest designer in August was an amazing experience and with a tad of pushing from my hubby I decided to apply.
My term starts in November and I can't wait to share my layouts with you as  a Design Team member.

I look forward to seeing some of you come and play on this amazing site and if you are like me in the beginning and not sure if you could, look where it got me by just having a go at something new.
It doesnt matter if you're a beginner or a seasoned scrapper or somewhere in between, everyone is welcome with open arms

This is the newest case file at CSI so come and play ,
you have nothing to lose but so much to gain

thanks for taking the time

" Timeless "

Hi everyone and I hope you are all having a wonderful week.
This layout has been inspired by the October mood board at the Berry71bleu challenge site. I loved the colours of this months challenge. I have had this gorgeous photo of my daughter Kyra for awhile and have been putting off doing the page. I stepped way outside my comfort zone on this one because I've never done a black background before. I hope you like it as much as I do.

I did heap of layering for this layout with only a tiny bit stenciling on the background. Its a shame  it hasn't shown up in the photos because it looks so good in real life.

Berry71bleu moodboard for October.

Now for all the closeups

I love to paint my 2Crafty Chippie pieces and this layout was no different.
I left the clock natural because  I think its added a tad of pop.

I love this collection from Prima and in this layout
I used the Time Traveller paper
and the time traveller flowers to match.

Primas Color Blooms accentuate the surrounds of the layers
and a couple of splotches to finish it off

More Prima flowers and I added some of the
Tim Holtz  filmstips to my clusters.
 Items used:
Prima Time Traveller papers
Prima Time traveller flowers
Time Holtz film strips
2 Crafty Chipboard
 Bazzill paper
bits and pieces of left over papers
Studio Calico clocks
Monte Marte Impasto
Jo Sonya paints

" Always Follow your Dreams "

Hi everyone this is my latest layout for Color, Stories and Inspiration (CSI).
                                                      Case File no 144.
                                                        http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/

When I saw the colours of this case file I knew that I wanted to do a more "arty " type of layout than I would usually do. I hope you like it. This is a photo of my daughter at my wedding in Queensland. I think she looks absolutely gorgeous but then I am very biased where it comes to my children.

Now for the Case File;
The Scheme; all the colours have been used here, bright yellow, warm gray, black, white and turquoise.

The Evidence; paint, polka dots, stripes, light bulb, clouds, flowers (of course) metal and clips.

The Testimony; I used a "thought question" for this layout. Some of the journaling is on the clouds and the rest is on the tag under the photo. The question that I used was.
What I didn't know about you?
These are my answers
I didn't know love till I first saw you when you were born.
I didn't know you would be so smart.
I didn't know you would be so caring.
I didn't know that you would grow into such a beautiful woman.
I didn't know that you would be a loving wife and a devoted Mum.
I didn't know how special a daughter you would be.
I didn't know I could be so proud of someone.
I didn't know that you would also be my best friend.
I didn't know that you would have unquestionable integrity.
I didn't know I would love you to the moon and beyond.

            Now for some close ups and details;
Lots of gesso and texture paste to create this background. Gelatos, paints and mist to add the colours.
Washi tape, stamping and the background is complete.

Layers and of course flowers. Heaps and heaps of 2Crafty chippies. Abit of punching here and there. I love the black accents of the chippies. Little embellishments here and there just finished off this layout.

" Favourite "

Case File 143
at Color, Stories and Inspiration (CSI)
Hi and thanks for stopping by. This is my latest for the CSI challenge blog. I have such a wonderful time creating for this challenge blog. Love that it not only incorporates an inspiring colour palette but gives you a detailed list of elements to use ( the evidence ) and then heaps of prompts for the journaling on your layouts (the testimony)
This group of photos are of myself with my three beautiful children. They gave me this photo session as Mother's Day gift a couple of years ago. What a fantastic day.

Case File 143
Emma Stafrace sketch that I based my design on
http://emisjustagirlwithideas.blogspot.com/

Now for some closeups and the details of the Case File

The Scheme; all 5 colours used, sky blue, scarlet red, gray, black and teal blue.

Evidence; I have used mixed media background, stripes, birds, birdcage, cogs, flowers, leaves, circles and butterflies.

The Testimony; I chose to write my journalling on the back of the layout because I wanted document all the " Brain Candy " I have about my children and these photos. You decided to give me a photo shoot with the three of you for Mothers Day in 2008. This was something you all knew I would absolutely love and which I did. What an amazing day, starting with us deciding to wear the same colors being jeans with either a black or white  shirt. Kyra, DD forgot to bring a black t-shirt so she ended up wearing a PJ top that was covered in cat hair. We all ripped her off about that one all day. Wade (youngest DS) didn't have a white long sleeve shirt so he had to wear one of mine much to his disgust. Having to wear something of Mm's when your 15 is just not on. Makeup and hair was professionally done and DD and I revelled that. The boys were none to happy about having to wear a little foundation for the camera. All dressed and prettied up and we were ready to go. We stood this way and that way, we laid on the floor, we laid against one another, click click click went the shutter. We laughed so hard, and the kids sledged each other that much that the poor photographer had to stop so many times to find her composure so that the photos weren't blurry. I have never laughed so much and tissues were the order of the day to wipe the tears of laughter from our eyes. Not only did we have a fun day but I think that the photographer had so much fun she won't forget us in a hurry either.  For the last group of photos we had to sit one at a time on the floor and the other each had a basket of small plastic brightly coloured balls to drop/throw on the person sitting. Poor DD went first and her brothers made target practice out of her. I think they forgot that their time was coming. Yes, she did get even. In all we all had the best day and as a result we all have the most fantastic memories of a brilliant day with the photo evidence to prove it.

Lots of layers, Gelatos for the colour on the background and the cogs are all embossed with silver

Heaps of 2Crafty Chipboard, flowers and more flowers of course, a bit of sparkle on the feathers and the wings of the birds. A bit of stamping to finish it off.

" Moments Together "

CASE FILE 141 AT CSI (Color, Stories and Inspiration)

Hi this is my take on the case file.
This is my second eldest Jake and his beautiful girlfriend Laura at a recent wedding. Laura was in the wedding party and looks absolutely stunning in this dress. The colors in this case file were perfect for this picture. I have been wanting to do something with these photos for awhile and this has given me the perfect opportunity.

This is case file 141 that I derived my inspiration from

A few closeups and the case file requirements

The Scheme: all five colors used, Chartreuse, Dark purple, White, Avocado green and Black.
The Evidence: I have used cogs, music elements (on the layer papers) birds, leaves, lots of layers, something unexpected(my little green ladybirds which are hard to find) and glossy accents (my title, cogs and flourish have all been finished in Glossy Accents.
The Testimony: I poked the journalling on the tags behind the photos and you can see the tags on the right hand side with 2 black love hearts on them. The journalling Im sorry to say is a private message that I have left for my son Jake and his girlfriend Laura. It lists all the things I love about them.

I have used some of the following items;
Bo Bunny paper - Isabella Rose
2 Crafty Chipboard
Prima & Petaloo Flowers
Kaisercraft cutouts
Studio Calico wooden birds
Gesso and Impasto
Color Blooms, Distress inks and Perfect Pearls
