" Cheeky "

Hi all and thanks for popping in during this very busy time.
Well Christmas has come and gone and now we are all waiting for the New Year. I hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you and your families a safe and healthy New Year.

This is my latest  DT work and its for case file 150 at CSI.

The little man in this photo is my youngest son Wade who I might add is now 21 years old. We had a day trip to the beach which was his first time. He spent so much time trying to eat the sand. As you can tell the day wasnt very inviting as it was so cold, jumpers and beanies were definitely the order of the day.
Unfortunately it was that long ago that I can't remember which beach it was.

this is the wonderful case file that I took my inspiration from,
gorgeous colours in this pallette.

Now for the case file requirements;
The Scheme (colours)- I have used all 5 being, bright red, cream, grass green, black and cadet blue.
The Evidence - I used the following from the list, stripes, swiss dots, arrows, banner, light bulb, decorative border, robots/monsters, use heat  and labels.
The Testimony; I made a tag out of the "Remember" label and used the inspirational words. I tucked it behind the photo and it reads; Wade you were always such a busy little man. You loved to help me with my work and as long as I didn't worry about the quality you were happy. As a toddler you had the cheekiest smile that would melt all the hearts that you came in contact with. You were always a delight to be around, full of laughter and a very inquisitive mind.

Now for the close ups and the layout details......

All the 2Crafty chippies were given a coat of Gesso and then
I smudged some red Gelato colour on them.
I love that I can still see some of the Gesso.

My little aliens were painted. I added some skeleton leaves.
The banner is quite simple with my sons name on it.

Labels, chippies and aliens poking out all over this layout.

This flowers was white so a touch of Dylusion ink and its perfect.
I tucked my journalling on a tag that the Remember label is attached to
then I tucked it behind the photo.

The arrows got the same treatment as the title

I love the Kaisercraft labels and cutouts and find that
Im using them more and more on my layouts.
cogs added a masculine element to the LO

Love this hessian flower.

The light bulb was a evidence element, cute though

" Fun is....."

Hello and welcome to a fantastic Case File at Color, Stories and Inspiration (CSI)

This is my DT work for case file 149. I really struggle with the colour blue and the last few case files have been just that, BLUE !! So it was time to put my fears away and tackle blue head on. We all have those colours that we may not be comfortable with or just don't use that much or not at all, so I challenge everyone to create a layout using the colour that you use the least.  CSI has made me confront this nemesis head on and I am so happy with the result on this one. This was a trip to Mt Buller in Victoria, Australia with my 2 children. What a great day as it was their first trip. I used to love these first time trips, their little faces and how they would light up seeing something for the first time.

The case file and the sketch by the very talented
Emma Stafrace http://emisjustagirlwithideas.blogspot.com.au/

The Scheme; All colours represented, midnight blue, lime green, light blue, teal blue, bright yellow.
The Evidence; I used the following- stars, hearts, fringe, polka dots, swirls (hard to see but they are in the background) use heat, mixed media.
The Testimony; I was inspired by paper wishes, being, a favourite childhood memory but I did it in the eyes of my children and it is as the title says FUN is... and then the five memories of our first trip to see snow.
1. Fun is .. taking my children to the snow for the first time.
2. Fun is... Watching the smiles on their faces as they make snow men
3. Fun is.. Watching and laughing as they struggle to stand in the snow.
4. Fun is.. Mowing down my son whilst I'm on the toboggan.
5. Fun is... Hot chocolate and 2 kids sleeping for the trip home.
Now for some close ups and details
2Crafty Chipboard pieces, well this was a mission, first Gesso then
I has some Aleene's True Snow left over from my Christmas cards so I dabbed all over the chippy pieces and snowflakes.
Then  mixing paint until I was happy with the colour and finishing it all off with Stickles.
Love that the snow flakes look like snow.

I decided to mount my journalling on plain bazzill which matches
the bazzill that the photos are mounted on. Its the same as the first layer of paper.
The frames around the photos are from the 2Crafty Circle Revolutions pack, they are the blanks that are left when you take the frames out.

Snowflakes sparkling across the top

Lots of stamping and layers of pretty doilies.

Snowflakes poked into my gorgeous flower clusters.

Some of the items that I have used:
Papers- bazzill
Unknown polka dot paper
Gesso and Impasto
Jo Sonja paints
2Crafty chipboard
Prima flowers
Petaloo Flowers
Green Tara flowers
Stickles
Aleena's True Snow
Lace

" Wonderful "

Welcome to another Case File for CSI.
I hope you enjoy this layout as much as I loved creating this one.
Case File S365-10 at Color, Stories and Inspiration (CSI)

This case file was created in collaboration with Scrap365  UK's biggest and best online scrapbooking magazine.

This is my DT reveal for case file 365-10 and I really love the colours in this case file and couldn't wait to get started on this one.
I have  been wanting to do a couple of photos of my son Wade and his girlfriend Kelsey's recent trip to Europe. I knew that this photo would be just perfect for this case file. The soft pinky/coral of the building and the brickwork are just fabulous. I absolutely loved this paper range and although it was just perfect for case file but also found that its softness suited the photo so well.

The scheme; black, off white, muted salmon, taupe and green all accounted for.
The Evidence; I used the following distressing, metal, flowers/leaves, bricks, raffia/ string/ ribbon, hang something from a ribbon, cursive font, use something powdery
The Testimony; My journalling for this layout had to go on the back of the page. I used the inspiration words. It reads as follows.
Wade and Kelsey went on a winter holiday to Europe and England in 2014 for 6 weeks. Part of their holiday was touring the Islands of Greece and Croatia via boats. We gave these cruises to Wade as his 21st present which we took comfort in knowing that they would always be very special to him and something that he would always remember and be thankful for. Leaving Australia in winter to head for Greece was a bit of a shock as the temperatures were slightly different, when they left it was 16 degrees and arriving in Greece it was over 40 degrees. Not deterred by the heat they saw all the sights and had some amazing experiences. Even though it was so very hot they loved every minute of their European  holiday and can't wait to save enough money to go back. This  house in Croatia and they just loved it so much they had to have their photo taken outside it. They have so many wonderful photos of their holiday, the sights and the wonderful building that in most cases are older than Australia itself.

Now for some close ups and details...............

Lots of layers and of course " flowers". I love cutting out the name plates
I think they added something special.

Same cutouts as the name tags for the date. Brick work on
the background matches the bricks in the photo

A little metal birdcage and a camera just some of the
embellies I like to " hide " in my
layouts now

Tulle ribbon made in to bows

some of the items used;
papers
Prima, forever green- Gardens Talk
Rondelle - Sovienne
Epiphany - Manifestation of Love
Plain bazzill
Gesso and Impasto
Jo Sonja paints

" Sweet Memories"

Hello  everyone and welcome to another
Case File at Color,Stores and Inspirations.

The colours in this case file are so soft and delicate that they just reminded me of the flowers in my garden. I was going to take a photo pf my garden but then I remembered that I had this photo of  a magnificent bunch of flowers my youngest son had bought me for Mothers Day this year that I said I was going to scrap. I found that once I had put the photos on this layout they seemed to melt into the page

Case File 148 at CSI

The Elements of the Case File;
The Scheme; The colours, grayish green, lemony yellow, light coral, white and green. All accounted for.

The Evidence; I used the following to solve this case, pen work, string, staples (to hold my layers together), birds, branches/trees, flowers, book pages and watercolour.

The Testimony; I documented a daily pleasure - my garden/ my flowers.
Around the edge of the layout I incorporated the following by pen into the layout instead of using a stamp. Its reads; It doesn't take much t make me smile. These are flowers my son Wade bought me for Mothers Day in 2014. To be woken with breakfast in bed and the biggest bunch of Chrysanthemums that I had ever seen was the most wonderful surprise. I do love flowers.
On the rear of the layout is continues with;
Wade knows that my garden my plants and my flowers are all so special to me. I love to wake every morning, cuppa in hand and just sit on my rear deck and listen to the world start another day. The sounds of life awakening is something that we all take for granted. The birds chirping, the sound of the cars on the road and on a good day the sounds of waves crashing on the beach. I love to find that a new flowers has opened to show us all its beauty or to watch the butterflies flutter from one flower to the next or the birds collecting twigs and branches to make a new nest for new life all of this and I can see it and more from my chair on my rear deck.
I have spent many many hours in my garden creating a tranquil, beautiful place that we can all go and spend many hours. It doesnt matter if you sit and read, watch the clouds move across the sky or sit with someone else and talk over the problems of the world, its there for all to enjoy.

Now for some close ups and a few more details;
Lots of my most fav thing...flowers

I love adding the Kaisercraft cutouts where I can.
I used a  grid stamp and stamped  the same paint that
I used on the chipboard pieces onto the background.

All the chippies painted and that same grid stamp again
and a few pearls here and there

You can see the photos better in this one.
They just melted into the flowers in the other pics.

Little birdies poking out of the flowers clusters

some of the items that I have used;
Gesso and Impasto
Papers, Prima Rondelle Collection- Cottlilion,Pavanne
plain bassil
2Crafty Chipboard

" Special Memories "

Hi every one and welcome to another case file at Color, Stories and Inspirations ( CSI)
This is Case File no 147

This is a photo of my Hubby Pat and his little puppy Sox. Two little puppies were abandoned by their original owner. The were bundled up in a box and dumped in a paddock near where my hubby lived as a young boy.  As a young boy  fossicking through the paddock he came across the box. Being a normal little boy he investigated the contents of the  box and to his delight he found two small puppies. Running home very excited with his new found treasures he was promptly told that he could only keep one and they would find a home for the other puppy. Pat decided on this one and Sox became part a very important part of his family and his childhood.

Lots of layers and the fish tails I mounted on
some bazzill so they would stand out.

This is the case file at CSI and the sketch by Emma Stafrace

The Scheme; all five colours used, light slate, dark slate, white, red and black.
The Evidence: I used, circles, stripes, plaid, polka dots, grid pattern, stars, stamps, dog and other animal accents.

 My Hubbys story as above

" Simply the Best "

My Second reveal for the month of November for Color Stories and Inspiration ( CSI )
Case File S365-9
Hi and welcome everyone this is my take on Case File S365- 9. I loved the soft Autumn colours of this case file and thought this photo of myself at Wentworth Falls lookout just out of Katoomba, New South Wales up in the Blue Mountains was perfect for this challenge.
The whole case file to me had a country/autumn feel to it.

This is Case File S365-9 at CSI.

The Scheme; All colours used; Khaki green, Eru, Warm Gray,Bright Yellow and Bright Orange.
The Evidence; I used the following, Leaves/branches, Transportation accents, mists, metal, fence, string
The Testimony; I have documented the journalling on the tags behind the photos and finished it on the back of the layout. This is my story;
My hubby and I took a day trip to the beautiful Blue Mountain in New South Wales. We went via Richmond and being a lovely Autumn day the air was crisp and the temp slightly cooler. The leaves were all those beautiful colours of  green, reds, rich oranges, browns and yellows. Some of the tress were already bare with their leaves scattered all over the ground around their trunks.
We made our way to Katoomba to have a look at the mamagnificententworth Falls. We got to the lookout only to find that we couldn't see a thing with all the fog shrouding the mountain and valleys. We went back into Katoomba for a walk around the shops and the nynumerousntique shops. You know your getting old when they are selling " Antiques" that you  have either used as a child or in our case still use at home. We had a giggle at that one.
We then drove around until wee found this gorgeous little restaurant tucked away in the tress and decided to have lunch and hopefully wait for the fog to lift. Steak sandwiches and coffees for lunch and with our tummies full we were on our way back to the look out. We parked the car and walked to the look out to see nothing but fog and not a mountain in sight. Just as we were about to walk back to the car, there was a split in the fog and we managed to snap 2 photos, one of me and one of my hubby.
We made our way back to the car and continued our road trip. Winding through the mountain roads we toured Lithgow and all the little towns on the way. We stopped at an apple orchard on the side of the road and bought the most amazing apples you could ever imagine. Nothing like freshly picked Granny Smith apples straight off the trees, so crisp so tasty, yummy.
Travelling through all the sleepy little country towns as we made our way home, stopping when we wanted to look at something that caught our eyes, what a wonderful day trip we had

NOW FOR THE CLOSE UPS AND SOME DETAILS
Lots of flowers ( of course), and I found the
metal penny farthing in my stash and thought it was sensational on this page.

Chippie pieces for a bit of realism.

Lots of texture paste and I used paints for
 the colours on the background.
Finished it off with some stamping.
Found a pic of the wishing well and
fussy cut that out to add to the page.

All the chippie pieces were painted to match
the background. I added some painted metal for a bit of pop.
