" Cherish you "

REVEAL NO 5
AT CSI (Color, Stories and Inspiration)
Hi everyone well this is my last reveal as August Special Investigator at Color Stores and Inspiration (CSI) case file 137.
I have had a wonderful time with these challenges and have been so pushed out of my comfort zone. Having to create as a guest designer was an amazing honor and something that I took very serious and tried my best to present layouts that  I hoped were inspirational.

In  this layout I have scrapped my eldest, my daughter Kyra. I loved these photos and couldn't decide which one to use so I decided to use one and have the cheeky one in the resin frame. I love the way it gives the perception that she is looking at the framed photo.

The Scheme: warm gray, white, bright yellow, bold orange and medium pink... all used and obviously so.
The Evidence: I have used Polka dots, stripes, envelope, melt something, texture paper, metal, flourishes and labels.
The Testimony: I put some journalling on the back of the envelope and finished it off on the back of the layout. It goes like this,
Kyra, you are the oldest of my children. Your are the mother of my 2 grandchildren. You are an exceptional daughter, mother and wife. You brighten my life  in ways that I would never be able to explain to you. The effect that you have on everyone that you come in contact with is nothing short of amazing. Your bright, your funny, your loving and most of all you are my daughter and I am extremely proud of the person that you have grown to be. May sunshine always rain on your parade my darling daughter, love forever Mum.

                                              NOW FOR SOME CLOSE UPS

Lots of gesso and misting on the background. Some stamping but instead of using black I went with gray to match the case file. Im loving the Kaisercraft cutouts and am adding them to all my layouts now. I love the little extra they add.
Embossing the title really gives it some pop and of course flower and heaps of them. A touch of lace against the folded back paper really gives a nice feel to the layout.

 Question 5
Confession time. What secret do you not want to admit but are willing to confess here?
I struggle starting every layout that I do. Once I start of get an idea or colour combo in my head Im find everything just seems to flow but getting there is hard. This is why I love CSI as it gives me the push I need to start.

Thanks for taking the time

" Dream "

" Scrap The Girls "

challenge for August

Hi everyone something a little different for me as I've never entered a layout on this challenge site. Looking around the net at all the various challenge sites I spotted and was so taken by this gorgeous mood board at " Scrap the Girls ". The colours in this months mood board are some of my favourites.
I have been so busy scrapping my granddaughters that I haven't got around to doing anything with any of our wedding photos. So with my  fav colours mixed with some of my fav photos, I'm thinking it's got to be a winner if not for the challenge then for me anyway. May have to do a few more of our wedding and maybe even complete a whole album.

Heaps of Dylusions in the background, some texture paste and.
I added gold to the top of the mask and after I sprayed the 2Crafty Chippy pieces with Dylusions I added Inka Gold for a bit more of a dramatic effect.
I loved it so I added it to the edge of the flowers too.

This is the mood board designed by the amazing Rikki Graziani

Some close ups

Some of the flowers I had to colour
 to match this layout
Add a few of the Kaisercraft Collectable cutouts
from the Heirloom collection. I'm really loving
these little embellies
.

Love all the flowers on this layout, so girlie

Thanks for taking the time to stop by
enjoy

" Love to Pose "

WHITE ......with 1 Challenge - August 2014

Hi, this is my layout for the challenge site White with 1. I love the concept of this site using the colour white and then just one other colour that is changed each month to create the new challenge. I don't do monochromatic very often but when I do I have a great time and I am always happy with the results. Maybe I should do a few more.
This month it is the added colour is Liquorice (black).
This is a group of photos of my daughter Kyra and her hubby Scott  taken at her friends wedding. They had a photo booth set up and guest dressed in all sorts of costumes and had photos taken then when they collected their photos it came with the Bride and Grooms names and the date. What a great way to remember a wedding.
I thought that these photos are just so much fun thus making them just  perfect for this layout.

I used a  date stamp as the stamping in this layout. Heaps of Gesso and texture paste and while the texture paste was still wet I added some Micro Beads, I love these little guys. Lots of Washi tape in the background and not that you can see it to well but there is some black burlap in the background too.

I used 2Crafty chipboard for the title and also the circles around the photos. I also used the blank circle in this set as the second base for the photos too, you know the one that holds them all together in the pack. All the little tags and words I fussy cut out of the coordinates library sheets from CSI (Color,Stories and Inspiration)
http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/
Lots of flowers and a couple of gems here and there and Im so happy with this layout.

A COUPLE OF CLOSE UPS

Thanks for stopping by
have a great day

" Make a Difference "

REVEAL NO 4
Hi everyone this is my layout for case file no 136 at CSI (Color,Stories and Inspiration)
This is my eldest granddaughter Emelia ( Milly ). She just loves to dress up as Princess. Milly is fascinated with all things related to princesses and I think she has every DVD that has ever been made about any type of Princess. Because she is still so little her interpretation of a princess is any girl in a long dress with a tiara and of course long hair. When I saw this case file all I could think about was the photo of  Milly in this little pink dress that I bought her and her tiara and bling.

I used a flower stencil on the background and some texture paste. Then I coloured the background with the pink from the Gelatos. Some black stamping and the black and white Washi tape oh and added some plater tape for some extra texture.
I coloured the doilies with Dylusions which I think they came out great and what a pop of colour to the background. I also used the same colour on the tulips in the flower cluster.

Now for the case file;
The Scheme; chartreuse, turquoise, white, ballerina pink and black, all used
The Evidence; In this layout I used, text print (stamping),curl or fold something (my journalling), butterflies, lace, string, leaves, wet medium, mesh and wings
The Testimony; I documented a solitary Pleasure being dressups and also used the Inspirational words of Joy, Solitude and drift.
In the little roll that has been tied with string just under the flower cluster I documented the following;

My Granddaughter Milly loves playing dressups. She loves to play on her own or with other. She will try to get Mum, Dad, Nanny or her little sister involved at any chance she can. She will DRIFT  in and out of her room showing anyone that is in range her beautiful creations of dresses, hats, boa's, tutu's and of course all the necklaces, bangles and the prized tiara upon her head. She always gets first pick of the dress up box and everyone else has to play with the leftovers.
In the SOLITUDE of her room her imagination takes her to her imaginary worlds of beautiful dreamy places where princesses ride unicorns on rainbows. Where the grass is always soft and  green without a bindy insight. Where there is no rain to stop you going outside only the sun shining down from a big beautiful blue sky. Where at night firecrackers light up the dark sky putting on a display that looks like diamonds and other precious gems falling from the darkness. Where everybody loves everyones else and nobody is in pain. Where everyone smiles and all you hear is laughter as everyone plays at being friends.
While Milly is in her thoughts you can hear her chatter as she takes on the roles of the people that she has dressup like. Her biggest JOY would be dressing up as a beautiful "Princess"

Question 4
What is your favourite part of CSI - the color the stories or the inspiration?
For me it would have to be the color. I love playing with the colour side of these case files.

This is the case file which gave me the inspiration for this layout

" NZ Summer Holiday "

Hi there all, this is a bit of a change for me to to a male page but this is my adorable Hubby on a recent trip to New Zealand.
posted a challenge on travel I decided that this was a great advantage to start documenting our holiday with some great photos and incorporate it into a male theme which is something that I don't so often.
So this is my take on challenge no 33 Travel Adventures at Scrap Africa.
Oh and I have to thank my daughter for the T-Shirt that she bought that I might add he wore for most of our trip and yes it got some laughs, fingers pointed and giggles everywhere we went.

Part of the challenge is documenting the travel adventures. I have listed the date, location on the tags to the left but on the back of the page I've documented the following;
Pat (hubby) and I decided to take a trip to the south island of New Zealand in December 2013 for his birthday and our anniversary which is on the same day. What a breathtaking and wonderful country this is.
Travelling where we wanted to and not a plan insight we were driving along when we saw a sign on the road
 " Moeraki Boulders "
With no plans and no time frames we decided to take a look and have a coffee break. What a magical and very interesting place. " Koekohe Beach "  is where you find these boulders scattered along the beach where there are groups of these perfectly round rocks. We wandered up and down the beach and were enthralled by them. Local Maori legend says that these are the remains of eel baskets washed ashore from a canoe called "araiteuru". Scientist say that they have been underground and over time have been  uncovered by soil erosion. They came in all different sizes and unfortunately some had been broken by erosion. There were clusters of 2 or up to 15 in groups scattered along this very pretty beach of all different sizes. We decided that a walk along the beach before we went into the coffee shop was the order of the day and taking in this spectacular site was so worth the break from our driving. Our imaginations went wild with our stories of how these amazing boulders came to be there. They looked like marbles dropped from the heavens but just heaps bigger. Bowling balls of long past giants left in the sand. Us like many of the other visitors to this magical place had a ball taking fun snaps either sitting on top of them or leaning on them with your hands as if your were pushing them along. If ever in New Zealand I would highly recommend a visit to this place.

Heaps of layers of paper and corrugation which A painted in Gesso. My cog was painted and then I smudged some silver Inka paste on it.

The ribbon/bow is made out of a strip of hessian that I cut to suit and then frayed the edges. Rustic leaves and just a couple of " manly " flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the journey

" Hey You "

                REVEAL NUMBER 3
Hi everyone this is my third reveal as Special Investigator for CSI (Color,Stories and Inspiration) for the month of August.  This is case file no 135 and I hope you enjoy my take on it.
                             http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/
This is my eldest granddaughter Emelia who is lying in her sisters baby play dome. When I took up scrapping way back in 2012 I never thought that I wold have so much fun scrapping this adorable little face.  Emelia and her sister Eliza are my main models for all my scrapping layouts and I have to keep reminding myself that there are other members of the family and other photos that need to be scrapped to.

The Scheme :  lemon yellow, kelly green, bright blue, chartreuse and carnation pink - all used
The Evidence : I have used from the list polka dots, speech bubble, other animal, triangles, birds, sparkles, doilies, ribbon/bows and kite.
The Testimony : I decided to write an Acrostic and you can see it on the banner.

The banner is part of the case file  requirement which I think is a fitting endorsement to my granddaughter. I added a little pink Gelato and glitter to the speech bubble and this it the title, cute and effective. Lots of texture paste and colour, lace and Washi tape on the background and of course the Gelatos are what I used  for colour.

I love to add fussy cut flowers to pages as I think just add that something. These little kites are gorgeous and as you can see either on girl or boy pages.

I love the polka dot ribbon which I did in a double bow for this layout. The big flower was a very pale yellow and need to have some colour added, Gelatos again to the rescue.

You can see the layers in this photo and again I love to use chippies and colour them to match my layouts and in this one they are all from 2Crafty.
Case file 135 so cute.

Question 3
What do you find most challenging when working on a layout?
Oh this is an easy question... leaving my layout alone and not trying to add something else.I have so many ideas and want to use all of them on my layouts. My mantra when working on a layout is
" Step Away from the layout its done"

thanks for stopping by
keep smiling

" That Smile "

Hi everyone
this is my gorgeous granddaughter Emelia with a whole heap of fascinators that I have been collecting for such a long time. Not needing them anymore I thought that the girls could use them as dress ups but maybe not all at once.

For this layout I have taken inspiration from 2 challenge sites being Scrap Around The World and Berry71bleu

With the Scrap Around the World mood board I used the feathers, beads, flowers, the frame of the cotton reels is the little frame at the bottom and the "Fashion Show theme" I didn't want to use heaps of colours with this photo so I chose to keep it the same as all the fascinators which are all colours  in the cotton reels. This is the beautiful mood board that I used.

With the Berry71bleu  I based the layout on the sketch for this month's challenge but moved the title to the other side.
This is the fantastic sketch that I used.

In the layout  my big heart took me so long to make. I spent all afternoon rolling strips of paper around wooden skewers and the sticking them onto double sided sticky paper. Once I had enough I traced a heart shape onto my rolls and cut out the heart shape. With some of the rolls I had such pretty Washi tape that I ran strips of tape down the rolls. This is  great way to use Washi to. A couple of pearls along the top and I think it looks amazing

 Thanks for stopping by
and don't forget your comments give me so much inspiration

The Evidence; aliens,bird,metal,stitching,circles

The Testimony;I wrote a thank you to my granddaughter Eliza to thank her for all the wonderful thinks she brings to my life.

Question 2

My First Off The Page Creation

Hi everyone, just thought I would try my hand at an "Off the Page " creation for something a little different. Having never attempted one of these before this is what I came up with. This is my son-in-law Scott and my 2 beautiful granddaughters Emelia and Eliza. The shadow box was the packing for some Prima angels which I had kept. The heart  frame in the top box was white so  I painted it black and edged it with gold Inka paste. I love the effect, very vintage.

Just a few close ups for you.

Thanks for stopping by
