"Favourite Memories"

Hello again,
thanks so much for dropping by.

Today I'm sharing a very vintage layout that I completed as part of the design Team at Color, Stories and Inspiration for case file 192. I loved the darker colours in this case file and to me they just screamed vintage.

This is a photo of my Dad's mother " Ann" as a young girl.
I decided that this time I was not going to re-touch the photo at all. I thought it was just perfect the way it was..

Lots of case file elements in this one.
The tearing of the papers, the old fashioned newspaper prints then all inked in aged mahogany distress ink looks amazing.
This is case file 192 as easy as 1 . 2. 3
1. The Scheme all 5 colours here -  Charcoal gray, Light gray, White, Flax yellow and Maroon
2. The Evidence I used the following-  newspaper, birdcage, bird, heart, leaves, flowers, vintage elements, distressing, and tearing.
3. The Testimony- I wrote the testimony on the back of the layout and I wrote a list of at least 7 things. I did it in the form of the family tree and was bale to go back 8 generations.

I found this piece of old lace in my stash and I think it just goes beautifully here.
All the chippy pieces and the wooden birdcage all were painted then I rubbed
inka gold paste and finished  them off with a few micro beads.

Lots of flowers on this layout (as usual) I rubbed a little inka gold paste
on some of the flowers for this layout. I picked up the little yellow resin flowers in  Officeworks, gorgeous and self sticking.

Love the added Microbeads

Lots of layers of papers, wooden clock and the die cut paper clock.

I found this " Mont Marte"mannequin in one of the $2 shops in my area, little bit
of dressing up and I think it looks very vintage.
Just the right embellishment for this layout.

Some of the items I used:
Plain cardstock
Carta Bella  paper " Yesterday Ads "
Kaisercraft  paper - Art of Life collection  " " Creative"
Ceramcoat - Maroon
Jo Sonja Naples yellow
Mont Marte Mannequin
2 Crafty Cartia's swirl
Scrap FX chipboard
Green Tara flowers - Blossoms Ochre, Blossoms, Fantasy blooms
Petaloo flowers -Wild Mini blossoms
Prima Flowers - Parchment petals scrolls, Cartographer Adventurer
Officeworks-  resin flowers

WooHoo !!! I've been published

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by and welcome back to my little blog.
Time for me to brag a little.
One of my layouts is in the current issue of Scrapbooking Memories, no 18 issue 11. The submission was " Heroes"
To say I'm excited is an understatement,

As you can see it made the front cover.
To me it doesn't matter that it just a little picture on the cover,
it's still on the front cover.

This is the layout that I submitted to the magazine. Its of Jake and my parents taken when he joined  the Army. Dad is gone now so that makes this page even more special.

My Fairy Card

 Good afternoon,
I hope you are all having a fantastic day.

Just popped in to share a very simple and quick card I made today for my gorgeous granddaughter Milly May.
I can't believe that Milly is 6 today, my doesn't time just fly by.

I used Anita's Dies to cut out the circle and the fairy.
Love them and Anita has such a great range of reasonably priced dies.

It looks like the fairy is blowing the stars into the night sky. Those little "stars" are
also from the die. They are the cutout pieces around the circle.
They are actually snowflakes.

All the flowers are sprayed with Lindy Stamp Gang spray in Autumn Maple Crimson
then I did a light spray of Studio Calico's Mr Huey's  " shine" mist.
 Love that stuff!!
To finish the flowers  I adhered some white glitter to the edges of the petals.

Thanks for stopping by

" You Rock My World"

Hi everyone, thanks so much for dropping by to have a peek at this layout, which I must add, is one of my all time favs.
This one I created for CSI as part of the DT which is for the " Major" case file no 191.
I just love the colours in this case file and of course I
love all things girly so what a combination for me.

This is my eldest granddaughter " Emelia"

I started by created the base page with watercolour which is one of the case file elements.
After if was dry I added the star bursts with some Archival ink and a stencil.
Tear a Kaszazz paper and adding a plain white card stock gave me my starting point.

Love these little owls and I added the "googly eyes" which are one of the case file evidence requirements.I picked up the string in one of the cheap shops recently.
Oh and the circular diamonds are from the Reject shop here in Australia.
They are also stocking a few bits of scrapping item.

I added the bunting which I edged in gold Inka gold paste as I did the edges of the layout.
The other items that I did was to paint the chipboard pieces with the Inka Gold too.

I found some beautiful white and gold ribbon in my stash which I cut out
some fishtail tags and I ran it through the Bigshot and made some gorgeous little bows
which you can see on the layout.

I added a huge white polka dot bow to the cluster with all those stunning flowers. There are doilies behind the cluster. The pink and gold butterflies are from a paper in one of those 6 x6 paper packs, I love those.

I added some dots to the background with the Inka Gold paste in the pink colour.
You can see I splashed around some white too.

How beautiful is this case file, so here are the elements that I use:

The Scheme; I used all five colours.
The Evidence: I use the following, watercolour (the base page) strips, birds, stars, triangles, string, banner, hearts and googly eyes.
The Testimony is on the back of the layout, I used the inspirational words and it reads:
Emelia, it is such a treat to have you come over and visit Nanny and Poppy. We both love to hear all your stories and now that you have started school they are longer stories.
On this day we sat on the back deck, with you on the table  with your treats.
I decided to get my camera and while you were engrossed in your tales I snapped these photos. I love that you had no idea what I was doing and the look of surprise on your face when you realised that I was taking them was just so funny.
I rotated the sketch a little but kept the photos the same

Some of the products I used...
Plain  cardstock
Kazazz paper
Kaisercraft 6x6 paper pad "All the Glitters"
Flowers:
Prima - Charlotte
Enthaily
Petaloo -velvet hydrangeas
Green Tara - Fantasy Blooms rose

" Love This "

Hi and thanks for taking the time to stop by my little blog.
I really appreciate it.
Today I'm sharing my Design Team layout for case file 190 at

This is photo of my youngest son " Wade " and our fur-baby " Charli Girl"
not long after we got her. We had a pool way back then and Wade would take her for a little swim in the pool.
Today she got a little tired and went to sleep in his arms.
Wade didn't mind as he was cool in the pool.

For this layout I tore my papers down the page.
I added the white and the striped as it was just missing something without them.
The bottom paper had some dots added with texture paste.
The birds were stenciled on with black Distress ink

How cute are the little fish "swimming" across the page?:
I just love to add lots of pretties to my pages.
They didn't photograph well, but there are 2 sign posts in the bottom
cluster with Wade and Charli Girl on them

The case file evidence called for something in wood so I found this anchor and decided to
leave the title "a la natural "
Of course I had to have flowers on the page so I changed the colour of the
daisies and the little Green Tara ones. I love the jute string ribbon also from Green Tara
and have just been waiting for a page to put it on. Adhered some Micro beads to it.

I have a few of these wooden thongs and how good do they look on 'a
" beachy" page. I found the little white anchors and the ships wheel was white
too, so I changed its colour to match the page.

Oh I just love this ScrapFX light house. This is a 2 pack and I used the smaller one.
I had it white but it was missing something so I added the stripes, LOVE IT!!
My journalling is on the tags behind the photo.

I always keep a look out for those little pretties, those gorgeous embellies when I'm
out shopping or at garage sales and on the internet. In this layout you can see heaps
of them including the sunglasses in this photo.
Oh the last thing I did was to add some Micro beads and I think they look like
weed under the water.

Case File 190 at CSI. If you haven't played along yet
its as easy as 1.2.3

Case file Elements
The Scheme...I have used all the 5 colours listed
The Evidence..I used the following stripes,bird,nautical elements,scallops hearts,wood,
The Testimony... I chose to write about a special bond and it is on the scalloped tags behind the photos and it reads:
Wade and Charli Girl relaxing  in the pool we used to have. Wade came with me to get Charli Girl and since that day they have been inseparable. When she was so little he would carry her around, putting her in the pool ever so gentle just to cool her down. He would put her on the surf board and float her around the pool. He never put her in the water on her own and never left her unattended near the pool. You can see here in the photo that it all just got to much for the little Charli Girl, so when Wade stood, chatting me me she walked over, climbed into his arms and went to sleep. She knew she would be safe. Wade didn't move  for ages and when he finally did, he lifted her ever so gently and placed her in her bed to continue her sleep. She knew she was safe in his arms.
Friends forever !!

" Those Eyes "

Hi there everyone and thanks for stopping by today.
I am sharing my Design Team work for White With 1

For this month, February they have the very interesting colour of
" Chocolate"
This gorgeous photo, which I might add is a friends daughter  is just perfect for this colour.

Using lots a ScrapFX chipboard and teaming them with
Prima and Petaloo flowers cant beat that combo. Lots of stamping on the
background plus some stenciling that once dry I rubbed some chocolate Gelatos and Distress ink
 over
just so that it would stand out that little more.

The Resin Rainbow generously provided some
gorgeous little resin embellies for this month.

Here's another of the resin pieces, the doily. How gorgeous is that.
I cut it in half for this layout. I love to add lots if layers to my pages.

All the ScrapFX chipboard, painted white and then I added a
shimmer over the top.

More resin embellishments, yummo. Bits of gauze poked in here
and there.

I left the white round the photo and added a brown matt, just
something a little different for me. Tags and butterflies.

You can see the ripped paper best in this photo. The resin star
with splashes of white on some of the flowers.

The resin feathers, aren't they just gorgeous and so many
layouts that you an use them on.

Love my flowers on my layouts.
Love doing those shabby chic girly pages.

White With 1, take a look and have a go for this month. Can't wait
to see your layout...
